For instance, if you discover that a component in one of your products is faulty, you can locate the defective products fast:

• Who supplied which components and when?
• What products have you built using components from a specific batch?
• If defective products are still in stock, where are they?
• If defective products have been despatched, who received them and when?
• Have any of those products been reported faulty or returned?
