In 2009, a member of our staff contracted MRSA during a routine operation (thankfully she recovered). This event brought home to us the fact that healthcare associated infections were a major cause of death throughout the world. So, Red Ledge decided to put its knowledge and resources into improving the usage of hand wash devices to help reduce the risk of infections. Together with The University of Leeds, who were conducting research on human reaction timing using light, sound and colour, we developed our hand wash compliance device. During clinical trials of our patented device, hand wash usage increased by an amazing 67%!
